Debaser is an American hip-hop duo from Eugene, Oregon, formed in 2005 by MC Ethic and MC/producer Sapient. Members of the Sandpeople collective, the pair built a following through regional touring and collaborative releases. Their debut album, Crown Control (2006), featured appearances by Opio, Luckyiam, Grayskul, and Sleep. They followed it with the free download Back to Work (2009), featuring Phat Kat, Rasco, and Luckyiam, and Peerless (2010), which included collaborations with The Grouch, Cage, and Eyedea. Alongside Debaser, Sapient gained recognition as a producer, making beats for tracks featuring artists like Inspectah Deck of Wu-Tang Clan and Aesop Rock.
