Amaseffer, an Israeli progressive metal band from Tel Aviv, was formed in 2004 by drummer Erez Yohanan and guitarist Yuval Kramer. The following year, Hanan Avramovich joined as the second guitarist, completing the lineup. Their debut album, Exodus Slaves for Life, released in 2008, tells the story of the Hebrew slavery period in ancient Egypt through the ten plagues. The album featured lead vocals by Mats Levén and additional contributions from notable artists. Amaseffer signed with Inside Out Music for this release. In 2016, after a period of silence, Amaseffer released Kna'an in collaboration with Orphaned Land via Century Media Records.
