Sophie Cavez, born October 1, 1982 in Belgium, is a Belgian accordionist and singer who began mastering the diatonic accordion in her adolescence. In 2001, she joined the folk ensemble Urban Trad after meeting Belgian folk artist Didier Laloy, and thereafter contributed to groups such as Camaxe, Dazibao, and Knopf Quartet. She founded KV Express in 2006, releasing the albums Luna (2007) and D-Sensation (2010). With the duo Montanaro/Cavez, she issued Alma (2005) and Escales (2012), and toured across Belgium and France. In 2023, she collaborated with Josefina Paulson on the album MURMURES, followed by the single "Démo" in 2024. Her work was featured on RTBF's program "Le monde est un village."
