Konrad Becker, born on January 9, 1959 in Vienna, Austria, is an artist and media researcher, author, and composer known for his interdisciplinary work. In 1979, he formed Monoton, a pivotal Austrian electronic music project, which released its self-titled debut in 1980. In 1982, Monoton released Monotonprodukt 07, which was highlighted by The Wire magazine as one of the 100 most important records of the 20th century. Monoton continued to release notable works, including Eight Lost Tracks (2009) and Realtime (2011). Becker's work with Monoton has spanned various genres, incorporating elements of sound art, psychoacoustics, and industrial software.
