Quatuor Rosamonde is a French string quartet founded in 1981 at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris. Formed by students of Jacques Parrenin and Roland Pidoux, the quartet completed advanced studies at Yale University. The group gained early recognition as a laureate of the Fondation Menuhin in 1982 and won both the Prix d'interprétation de compositeurs modernes and the Prix spécial du Jury international des critiques at the Concours international d'Évian in 1983. It won the Premier Prix at the Concours de l'Union des radios européennes in Salzburg in 1986. The repertoire of the quartet included classical, romantic, and contemporary works. Its discography includes the recordings Ravel/Fauré : Quatuors à Cordes (1999), Messiaen : Inédits (1999), Debussy/Roussel : Quatuors à Cordes (2001), Fauré : Quintettes (2003), and Liens, Musique de Chambre de Jacques Lenot, which received the Grand Prix du disque from the Académie Charles Cros in 2005. The quartet collaborated with various composers, such as Henri Dutilleux and Pascal Dusapin, and performed on international stages.
