Roy Lønhøiden, born on May 4, 1964, in Kongsvinger, Norway, is a Norwegian composer and singer-songwriter known for his contributions to country music. In 1994, he formed the group Peyton Place with Kristin Solli Schøien, which received a contract offer from Sony Music. Despite the offer, Lønhøiden travelled to the US to live with family and friends. His solo career began when he returned to Norway in 1996, marked by notable albums such as Det ensomme landet (2004), Sanger fra skogen (2006), and Når dagen demrer blått (2008). He was nominated for the Spellemannprisen, Norway's equivalent of a Grammy Award, for three of his albums.
