Tobias Feldmann is considered one of the most promising musicians of his generation, not lastly due to his numerous accolades earned at music competitions. They include the prestigious 2015 Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, the 2012 International Joseph Joachim Competition as well as 1st prize in the German Music Competition, to name a few.
The graduate of the “Hanns Eisler“ School of Music has attracted attention with solo performances alongside numerous international orchestras such as the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Utah Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie and the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover. His partners at the conductor’s stand include Gilbert Varga, Hannu Lintu, Michel Tabachnik, Toshiyuki Kamioka, Nicolás Pasquet, Paul Meyer and Marin Alsop.
In 2015, he stood in for Christian Tetzlaff with solo performances of Bartók’s 2nd violin concerto alongside the Bundesjugendorchester under the baton of Karl-Heinz Steffens. In 2016, he also celebrated his debut as a soloist performing Mendelssohn’s violin concerto in e-minor at the Philharmonie Berlin.
Apart from his work as a soloist, he is also passionately committed to chamber music: He regularly appears with various ensembles at prestigious festivals like the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele, the Rheingau Musik Festival and the Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival.
In 2014, he released his debut album featuring works by Beethoven, Ysaÿe, Bartók and Waxman under the GENUIN label, which garnered immediate widespread praise among international critics and the press. Further CD recordings with Outhere Music and Alpha Classics are planned in the years to come.
