Shunno, a Bangladeshi alternative rock band, was formed in 2007 in Dhaka by Imrul Karim Emil and Shaker Raza. Soon after, Andrew Michael Gomez and Rafatul Bari Labib joined them. Their debut album, Notun Srot, was released in 2008. In 2009, they released Shoto Asha, which included the title track that became the theme song for the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Shunno has received several awards, including the Meril-Prothom Alo Award for Best Band of the Year in 2008 and Citycell-Channel i Music Awards in 2009 and 2011. Subsequent albums include Gorbo Bangladesh (2011) and Bhaago (2014). The band's song "Shono Mohajon" from Bhaago, addressing oppression, became an unofficial anthem during the Student-People's uprising in 2024.
