Clémentine Margaine, born 1984 in Narbonne, France, is a French mezzo-soprano and the sixth-place laureate of the 2011 Queen Elisabeth Competition in Belgium. She studied piano and voice at the conservatories of Perpignan, Montpellier, and Paris, graduating with highest honors, and further refined her Baroque performance skills at Royaumont. Margaine made her operatic debut as Rosette in Manon (2010) before gaining recognition as Mercédès in Carmen. Named Opera Singer Revelation of the Year at the 2011 Victoires de la Musique Classique, she joined the Deutsche Oper Berlin that season. She has since performed internationally, earning acclaim for roles such as Carmen, Dulcinea, and Laura Adorno at leading opera houses and festivals.
