Mastercastle, an Italian heavy metal band, was formed in 2008 by guitarist Pier Gonella and singer Giorgia Gueglio. The duo had previously collaborated on various music projects and sought to create something unique without adhering to a fixed genre. Their initial lineup included drummer Alessandro Bissa and bassist Steve Vawamas. In April 2009, Mastercastle released their debut album The Phoenix, which received critical acclaim and featured the popular video for "Princess of Love". The band's subsequent albums include Last Desire (2010), Dangerous Diamonds (2011), and On Fire (2013). In 2014, they released their heaviest album to date, Enfer (De la Bibliothèque Nationale), under Scarlet Records. Notable collaborations include contributing the song "Sakura" to the benefit album Embrace the Sun in 2011 and featuring Fabio Lione on the single "Who Cares for the Moon" in 2022. Their seventh album, Lighthouse Pathetic, was released in 2022 under Diamonds Prod.
