Brymir, eine finnische Folk-Metal-Band aus Helsinki, wurde 2006 während eines Sommer-Musikcamps unter dem ursprünglichen Namen Lai Lai Hei gegründet. Die Gruppe gewann einen Wettbewerb mit ihrer Coverversion von Ensiferums "Token of Time", was dazu führte, dass sie den Namen Brymir annahmen und begannen, eigene Musik zu komponieren. Ihr Debütalbum Breathe Fire To The Sun wurde 2011 über Spinefarm Records veröffentlicht und zeigt frühe Folk-Metal-Einflüsse. Mit ihrem zweiten Album Slayer of Gods (2016), das von Ranka Kustannus veröffentlicht wurde, gingen Brymir zu einem melodischeren Death Metal und Symphonic Metal Sound über. Die Band entwickelte sich weiter und veröffentlichte Wings of Fire im Jahr 2019 über Out of Line Music, gefolgt von Voices in the Sky im Jahr 2022 unter Napalm Records. Bemerkenswerte Singles sind "For Those Who Died" und "The Rain", beide 2016, sowie "Chasing the Skyline" und "Ride On, Spirit" im Jahr 2018.
