Phideaux Xavier, born Scott Riggs on January 14, 1963, in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, is an American singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. He began composing music in high school and started his musical career playing with various bands including ESP, the Delukes, Mirkwood, and Sally Dick & Jane. In 1992, Xavier formed the band The SunMachine, and they recorded the album Friction (1993). After several band changes and collaborations, he released the album Fiendish in 2003, followed by Ghost Story in 2004. His other notable albums included Chupacabras (2005), The Great Leap (2006) and Doomsday Afternoon (2007), the latter of which featured members of the Los Angeles Symphony Orchestra. Xavier's work often explored dystopian themes and complex musical structures. He also released the album Infernal in 2018.
