Either/Orchestra, a jazz group formed in 1985 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, was founded by Russ Gershon. The band began performing regularly around Boston and embarked on extensive tours across the United States and Canada in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Notable members included John Medeski and Miguel Zenón. Their repertoire spans a wide range of influences, including Duke Ellington, Gil Evans, Charles Mingus, and Sun Ra, as well as pop and rock references. In 2004, Either/Orchestra performed at the Ethiopian Music Festival in Addis Ababa, marking a significant collaboration with Ethiopian musicians like Mulatu Astatke.
