Manishevitz was an American indie rock band originally from Virginia, formed in the late 1990s by Adam Busch. The group released their debut album The Grammar Bell and the All Fall Down on Jagjaguwar Records in 1999. Following this release, Busch and guitarist Via Nuon relocated to Chicago, Illinois. Their sophomore LP, Rollover (2000), featured notable Chicago musicians including Ryan Hembrey, Nate Lepine, Joe Adamik, and Fred Longberg-Holm. In 2002, Manishevitz released the EP Private Lines, which included a cover of the Roxy Music song "2HB". Their third full-length album, City Life (2003), was also issued on Jagjaguwar Records. The band later released East to East in 2007 under Catbird Records.
