Odawas is a psychedelic/ambient rock band formed in Bloomington, Indiana, in late 2003. Their initial release was the self-released Vitamin City EP (2004). Odawas signed with Jagjaguwar Records and released their debut full-length album, The Aether Eater (2005). During this period, lead singer Michael Tapscott also produced a solo record under the moniker More Animals of the Arctic, titled An Appendix of Whaling Terms (2006). Odawas followed up with Raven and the White Night (2007), blending Tapscott's solo songwriting with the band's ambient textures. The group relocated to Chicago in 2008 and recorded their next album, The Blue Depths (2009). Odawas later moved to the San Francisco area and continued their musical journey with releases such as Reflections of a Pink Laser (2014) and Black Harmony (2015).
