Pilfers, an American ska band formed in 1997, originated from New York City. The group was founded by Coolie Ranx, former vocalist of Toasters, and Vinny Nobile, a trombonist from Bim Skala Bim. They were joined by Anna Milat-Meyer on bass, James Blanck on drums, and Nick Bacon on guitar. Pilfers released their self-titled debut album in 1998, which garnered positive responses leading to a signing with Mojo Records. Their second album, Chawalaleng, was released the following year. In 2001, the band disbanded after recording a live show at CBGB's that never saw official release. The original lineup reunited for several shows between 2005 and 2008.
