Dezerter are a Polish hardcore punk band formed in Warsaw in May 1981. The group was founded as SS-20 by guitarist Robert Matera, drummer Krzysztof Grabowski, and bassist Dariusz Stepnowski, with vocalist Dariusz Hajn joining several months later. They adopted the name Dezerter in 1982 following pressure from the Communist authorities. The band gained wider recognition with the four-track EP Ku przyszłości (1983), which sold 50,000 copies. Their performance at the Jarocin Festival in 1984, attended by approximately 20,000 people, was recorded, with portions later included on the compilation Underground Out of Poland (1987), released in the United States with the assistance of D.O.A. vocalist Joey "Shithead" Keithley. Following the departure of Hajn in 1986, the group continued as a trio, with Robert Matera becoming the band's lead vocalist. Their discography includes the albums Kolaboracja (1987), Blasfemia (1992), and Nielegalny zabójca czasu (2004). Jacek Chrzanowski joined the group as bassist in 2000. Their recordings include the album Wolny wybieg (2026).
