Coldseed, a groove metal band, was formed in 2005 with members hailing from Germany, Sweden, and Spain. The group's inception followed Thomen Stauch's departure from Blind Guardian, where he announced his intention to be active in two bands, Savage Circus and Coldseed. Coldseed featured Soilwork vocalist Björn Strid and signed with Nuclear Blast Records shortly after their formation. Their debut album, Completion Makes the Tragedy, was released in 2006. The album showcased a diverse mix of metal genres, including melodic metal, thrash, nu-metal, and industrial elements. Coldseed's music was noted for its varied styles and Stauch's versatile drumming, as well as Strid's dynamic vocal performances.
