Cenotaph is a Turkish brutal death metal band from Ankara, formed in 1993 by vocalist Batu Çetin. They released their first demo, Life Immortal (1995), which led to local performances and festivals. In 1996, they recorded their debut album, Voluptuously Minced, at Yeşilkart Studios in Istanbul and signed with Hammer Müzik. Their second album, Puked Genital Purulency (1999), was released by Hammer Müzik. Following lineup changes, they released Pseudo Verminal Cadaverium (2003) and performed internationally at events like Germany's Fuck the Commerce festival in 2005, Maryland Deathfest in 2006, and Metal Heads Mission in 2007. Their subsequent albums include Reincarnation in Gorextasy (2007), Putrescent Infectious Rabidity (2010), Perverse Dehumanized Dysfunctions (2017), and Precognition to Eradicate (2021). They signed to labels such as Sevared Records for US distribution and Coyote Records for Europe.
