Insane Poetry, an American hip hop group from Los Angeles, California, was formed in 1988. The group initially consisted of Cyco (previously known as Psycho), DJ Streek, and Shakespear the One-Man Riot. After replacing Shakespear with Em-Dee, Insane Poetry released its debut album Grim Reality in 1992 under Nastymix/Ichiban Records and peaked at number 98 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Following label changes and internal disputes, Insane Poetry continued to release albums such as Blacc Plague (1996), Faith In Chaos (2003), and Fallen From Grace (2007). Insane Poetry also collaborated with artists like M-Boogie, Dilated Peoples, DJ Revolution, War Paint, and Ware-Wolff.
