Noise Unit, a Canadian industrial band, was founded by Bill Leeb of Front Line Assembly as a side project. Leeb began the group after collaborating with Marc Verhaeghen of Klinik, releasing their debut single "Deceit / Struktur" in 1989. The band’s first album, Grinding Into Emptiness, appeared the same year on Wax Trax! and Antler‑Subway, followed by Response Frequency in 1990 featuring Rhys Fulber. Subsequent releases included Strategy Of Violence (1992), Decoder (1995), Drill (1996) with Haujobb members, and Voyeur (2005) with Chris Peterson, Jason Filipchuk, and Michael Balch; Voyeur reached number 4 on the German Alternative Charts. They returned with Deviator (2021) and Cheeba City Blues (2022) on Artoffact, the latter featuring the single "Alone Again" co‑written by former member Jeremy Inkel.
