Every Move a Picture is an American electronic rock group formed in 2004 by vocalist and guitarist Brent Messenger, bassist Joey Fredrick, and drummer Dan Aquino. The lineup was completed when Portland transplant Allen Davis joined on guitar and keyboards. Their first three songs gained local airplay, including in Los Angeles by Rodney Bingenheimer, and received international attention through BBC Radio 1. The band released the debut EP, Blink and You'll Miss It, in 2005, which led to a live radio session at KCRW and licensing deals. The track “Signs of Life” appeared on the video games Juiced and Need for Speed: Carbon, as well as the television series One Tree Hill. The London-based label Something in Construction issued a sold-out 7-inch single featuring “Signs of Life” and “Chemical Burns”. The group also released the EP Opposition Party to benefit the Rainforest Action Network. The band's debut studio album, Heart = weapon, was released in July 2006 on V2 Records, which the group supported on tour with Electric Six. The band also performed at the Reading and Leeds festivals.
