Paulson was an American indie rock and emo band formed in Midland Park, New Jersey, in 2001, comprising vocalist and guitarist Logan Laflotte, bassist Alex Burton, drummer Jeff Widner, and guitarist Jesse Burton. The group developed an art punk sound and a strong DIY ethic, releasing the EP Ridiculous/Engine EP (2002) and their debut studio album Variations on a Theme (2003). After signing with Initial Records, they reissued the album as Variations (2004), which was later re-released by One Day Savior in 2005. The band released their second studio album, All at Once, on November 22, 2005, before reissuing it on Doghouse Records on March 6, 2007, with four additional tracks. After their music was featured on MTVU, the group released the EP Calling on You (Digital EP) on December 25, 2007, before disbanding in 2008 as members pursued careers outside of music.
