Ghostland Observatory, an American music duo based in Austin, Texas, was formed in 2004. The band consisted of Aaron Kyle Behrens, born on January 11, 1982, in San Saba, TX, who served as the lead vocalist and guitarist, and Thomas Ross Turner, born on August 7, 1979, in Pecos, TX, who contributed background vocals, drums, keyboard, and synthesizer. Their first full-length album was Delete.Delete.I.Eat.Meat, was released in 2005 on Turner's Trashy Moped Recordings. The duo gained national attention with their performance of "Sad Sad City" on NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien on October 16, 2007. They released several albums, including Paparazzi Lightning (2006), Robotique Majestique (2008), and Codename: Rondo (2010). They performed at notable festivals such as Austin City Limits Music Festival, Coachella, and Voodoo Experience. The band announced a hiatus in April 2013 but returned with the album Vultures in 2021.
