Stonefree was a Filipino rock band formed in Antipolo, Rizal, Philippines, in 1995. The group originally comprised Regie Mangubat on bass, Relly Mangubat on drums, Benson Tanoja on guitar, and Miro Valera on vocals, all hailing from UP Diliman. Their breakthrough came in 2002 when their single “Listen” became a hit on Monster Radio RX 93.1, leading to the self-produced EP Listen (2004). On August 19, 2005, they released their debut studio album, Hibiscus, featuring the singles “Ikot” and “Sayang”, with the latter nominated for Best Performance by a New Group at the 19th Awit Awards. Their sophomore album, DeLorean, followed on March 17, 2007, with the carrier single “Anghel”. Following lineup changes in mid-2010, the band recorded the album Providence (2012). The members briefly reunited in 2014 for a reunion gig, and vocalist Miro Valera later competed as a finalist on the television series The Voice of the Philippines season 2.
