Gang Green, an American hardcore punk/crossover thrash band from Braintree, Massachusetts, was formed in 1980 by Chris Doherty on guitar, Mike Dean on drums, and Bill Manley on bass. The group contributed to the This is Boston, Not L.A. compilation in 1982. After disbanding in mid-1983, Doherty reformed Gang Green in late 1984 with a new lineup that included Chuck Stilphen on lead guitar, Glen Stilphen on bass and vocals, and Walter Gustafson on drums. This lineup released their debut album Another Wasted Night in 1986. The band's musical style evolved towards heavy metal by 1987 when they signed with Roadrunner Records, releasing the album Older... Budweiser in 1989. After a hiatus from 1990 to 1995, they reunited in 1996 and released Another Case of Brewtality in 1997. In 2005, they supported the Dropkick Murphys on the West Coast leg of their U.S. tour. The band later toured the eastern United States and Europe in 2007, with the Irish dates filmed for a live DVD, and in 2013 Doherty assembled a new lineup with Chris Donelly, Dale Kishbaugh, and Sean Boyle.
