Wolfsbane was formed in 1984 in Tamworth, Staffordshire, England, and comprises vocalist Blaze Bayley, guitarist Jason Edwards, bassist Jeff Hateley, and drummer Steve Danger. The band first attracted attention with the 1985 demo Wolfsbane, followed by Dancin' Dirty (1987) and Wasted But Dangerous (1988). Their breakthrough came with the 1989 debut album Live Fast, Die Fast, produced by Rick Rubin and released on Def American; the single "Ezy" entered the UK Singles Chart at number c 68 in 1991. Wolfsbane continued with Down Fall the Good Guys (1991), the self‑titled Wolfsbane (1994), and Wolfsbane Save the World (2012), interspersed with live releases such as Massive Noise Injection (1993) and the 2025 re‑imagined Live Faster. After a 1994 breakup prompted by Blaze Bayley’s departure to join Iron Maiden, the group re‑formed in 2010, releasing Genius (2022) and announcing a new studio project in 2024. Throughout their career, Wolfsbane toured with acts including Iron Maiden, Motörhead, and Ozzy Osbourne, and maintained a presence on the UK metal scene.
