Janusz Prusinowski Kompania is a Polish traditional folk band formed in 2007, originally known as Janusz Prusinowski Trio. The group developed its repertoire from the traditional village music of Central Poland, particularly mazurkas and obereks learned from musicians including Jan Lewandowski, Kazimierz Meto, Józef Zaraś, and Piotr and Jan Gaca. They released their debut album, Mazurki, in 2008, followed by Serce (2010), which won the Polish Radio Folkowy Fonogram Roku award. The group continued with Po kolana w niebie (2013), which received second place in the same competition, and later expanded from the Trio into Janusz Prusinowski Kompania. Their album Po śladach (2018) won the Folkowy Fonogram Roku 2018. The ensemble has performed internationally, including at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and Chicago Symphony Center, while also conducting workshops devoted to Polish traditional music and dance. In 2023 and 2024, the group participated in the four-album Cztery Domy Słońca series devoted to traditional songs, dances, and children's repertoire.
