Six Finger Satellite, an American rock band from Providence, Rhode Island, was formed in 1989 by Jeremiah Ryan. The group initially included John MacLean on guitar, Peter Phillips on guitar, Chris Dixon on bass, and Rick Pelletier on drums. Their demo Weapon EP in 1992 led to a signing with Sub Pop Records. Their debut album, The Pigeon is the Most Popular Bird, was released in 1993. The band underwent several lineup changes and produced notable albums such as Severe Exposure (1995), Paranormalized (1996), and Law of Ruins (1998). Their music video for "Parlour Games" from the Severe Exposure album was featured on an episode of Beavis and Butt-head. The band disbanded in 2001, but reformed in 2007 with a new lineup.
