Eric's Trip, a Canadian indie rock band from Moncton, New Brunswick, formed in 1990 when musicians Rick White and Chris Thompson joined Julie Doiron and Ed Vaughan. The band took their name from a Sonic Youth song and developed a unique sound that fused elements of distorted guitar, vocal elements of My Bloody Valentine, the folk leanings of Neil Young, and the lo-fi aesthetic of Sebadoh. They released their first full-length album, Love Tara, in 1993. The band achieved prominence as the first Canadian act signed to Seattle's flagship grunge label Sub Pop in the early 1990s. Their second LP, Forever Again (1994), included the minor alternative hit "View Master". They broke up in 1996 during a US tour but reunited periodically for shows between 2006 and 2009. Post-breakup, members pursued various projects, including Julie Doiron's successful solo career and Rick White’s work with Elevator.
