Kelley Stoltz, born September 21, 1971 in New York City, is an American singer, songwriter and musician. He grew up in Birmingham, Michigan, and moved to New York City in his early twenties, where he interned with Jeff Buckley's management company. In the late 1990s, Stoltz relocated to San Francisco and began his musical career, releasing his debut album The Past Was Faster on Telegraph Records in 1999. His second album, Antique Glow, was self-released in 2001 and later gained wider distribution through various labels. In 2005, Stoltz signed to Sub Pop and released the EP The Sun Comes Through. He toured extensively, including performances at Lollapalooza in 2006 and opening for The Raconteurs. Notable albums include Below the Branches (2006), which featured the Green-e logo certifying renewable energy use in production. Stoltz continued to release albums and collaborate with other artists, including To Dreamers (2010, Sub Pop) and Double Exposure (2013, Third Man Records), and appeared on Sonny Smith's Tomorrow is Alright. He performed as part of Rodriguez's backing band in 2012, toured with Jack White in 2013, and played rhythm guitar for Echo & the Bunnymen in 2016 and 2018. Subsequent albums include In Triangle Time (2015), Que Aura (2017), Natural Causes (2018), My Regime (2019), and La Fleur (2024), alongside releases under a pseudonym and various live and collaborative records.
