Thee More Shallows, an American experimental indie rock band from San Francisco, California, was formed in 2001 by Dee Kesler, Chavo Fraser, and Jason Gonzales. The trio met at a concert where they were performing with different groups. The band has been known for their soft, whispered vocals against a backdrop of finger-picked guitar and synthesized elements, influenced by classical and electronica genres. Initially known as Thee Shallows, the band released their debut album A History of Sport Fishing in 2002 under Megalon Records. Due to legal issues, they changed their name to Thee More Shallows and gained more popularity in Europe than in the United States. Their follow-up album, More Deep Cuts, was released in 2004 on Monotreme Records in the UK and Turn Records in the US. They signed with Anticon label for their third studio album, Book of Bad Breaks (2007).
