Mark Denis Lizotte, born on May 31, 1966, in Fall River, Massachusetts, is an American-born Australian singer-songwriter and musician. He moved to Australia in 1971 and began guitar work in Perth pub‑rock circles, joining Innocent Bystanders in 1983. As frontman of Johnny Diesel & the Injectors, their 1989 album Johnny Diesel & the Injectors reached number 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart and produced singles \"Don't Need Love\" and \"Soul Revival\". In 1992, under the name Diesel, he released Hepfidelity and the following year The Lobbyist, earning six ARIA Awards including Best Male Artist in 1993, 1994 and 1995. Solo releases include Solid State Rhyme (1994), Soul Lost Companion (1999), Hear (2002), Coathanger Antennae (2006), Days Like These (2008), Project Blues: Saturday Suffering Fools (2009), Under the Influence (2011), Let It Fly (2013), Americana (2016), Sunset Suburbia (2020), Alone with Blues (2021), and Bootleg Melancholy (2023). He also collaborated with Jimmy Barnes and Chris Wilson.
