Christopher Brendan Ward IV, known professionally as mc chris, is an American rapper, voice actor, comedian, and writer. Ward pioneered a high-pitched vocal style and geek-themed lyrics that contributed to the popularization of the nerdcore genre. Born on September 2, 1975 in Libertyville, Illinois, he attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Ward worked as a writer, production assistant, and voice actor for several Adult Swim programs on Cartoon Network. He voiced the character MC Pee Pants in Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Hesh Hepplewhite in Sealab 2021, and Ward Willoughby in the pilot Welcome to Eltingville (2002). He also composed theme songs for SModcast Internet Radio programs, including SModcast, Blow Hard, Bagged & Boarded, and Jay & Silent Bob Get Old.
