Lillian Gordis, born on July 12, 1992 in Berkeley, California, is an American-born harpsichordist who relocated to France at 16 to study under Pierre Hantaï, Bertrand Cuillerm and Skip Sempé. She earned a joint master’s degree in musicology and early music performance from the Université Paris‑Sorbonne in 2018 and began recording with the label Paraty. Her debut album Zones (2019) featured sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti and marked Gordis as the first woman in France to release a solo recording of Scarlatti sonatas on the harpsichord in 43 years. In 2026, she released Bach: Keyboard Works. Gordis performed at major European festivals, collaborated with the Orchestre Français des Jeunes Baroque, and served as visiting harpsichord professor at Oberlin Conservatory before joining the University of Colorado Boulder as chair of baroque music and assistant professor of harpsichord.
