Soulstorm is a Canadian industrial metal and death metal band from Toronto, Ontario, established in 1991. The ensemble was founded in May 1991 by vocalist and bassist Nick Sagias following the dissolution of the group Overthrow. Their recording career began with the debut demo recording Control (1991) through the label Epidemic Records followed by the debut studio recording Darkness Visible (1992) through the labels Metal Blade Records and Music for Nations. The group reached wider visibility after releasing a music video for the song “Disruption”. Soulstorm performed professional tours of the United States and Canada with musicians including Entombed, Cannibal Corpse, and Suffocation. The ensemble subsequently released the studio recording From Euphoria to Paranoia (1994) through the label Cargo Records. Their discography included the extended play Under the Killing Sun (1998), which was released through the label Sweet Tooth Records and limited to 1,000 copies. The ensemble became inactive in December 1999 but resumed activity in 2011. Soulstorm subsequently released the studio recording Fall of the Rebel Angels (2012), which featured guest vocals by the musician Rob Urbinati. The ensemble consists of the drummer Chris Mezzabotta and the guitarists Bryan Mallon and Shawn Stoneman. Their musical style has been compared to Godflesh and reached professional recognition for its use of a drum computer.
