Abrogation, a German melodic death metal band from Magdeburg, was founded in the mid-1990s by members "Schwarte" and "RW," with guitarist "Poldi" joining later. Their debut album, Handwerk des Todes, was released in 1999, featuring German lyrics and a drum computer due to the lack of a drummer. The band's breakthrough came with the inclusion of "Der schwarze Tod" on an Unerhört sampler CD by Rock Hard magazine, leading to a contract with Grind Syndicate, distributed by Nuclear Blast, for their second album, Das Blut der Toten, in 2002. Abrogation has performed at notable events such as the Wacken Open Air festival in 2010. The band's lineup evolved over time, with "Fenris" joining as a new singer in 2013 and "Kutte" becoming the second guitarist.
