Love Battery is an American rock band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1989 by vocalist and guitarist Ron Nine, guitarist Kevin Whitworth, bassist Tommy "Bonehead" Simpson, and drummer Dan Peters. Their name is derived from a song by the British punk band the Buzzcocks. Before releasing their first single, Peters left the group and was replaced by drummer Jason Finn. The band released their debut single, "Between the Eyes", in 1989. Their debut EP, Between the Eyes, was released in 1990 on Tupelo Recordings, and was expanded into a full-length album in 1991 via Sub Pop. Notable singles from this period include "Foot" (1991) and "Out of Focus" (1991), which subsequently appeared on their 1992 album, Dayglo. In 1993, the band released Far Gone through Sub Pop. They signed with Atlas Records in 1994, releasing the album Straight Freak Ticket (1995) and the single "Nehru Jacket" (1994). The lineup underwent several changes over the years, and the group entered an extended hiatus from 2002 to 2006 before resuming activity. Later releases include Confusion Au Go Go (1998).
