Jennifer Gentle is an Italian psychedelic rock band formed in Padua in 1999, centered on singer, songwriter, producer, and composer Marco Fasolo. Their debut album, I Am You Are (2001), drew inspiration from the late-1960s British psychedelic scene, particularly Syd Barrett. Their acclaimed second album, Funny Creatures Lane (2002), was followed by The Wrong Cage, featuring Japanese guitarist Kawabata Makoto. The band later toured New York, performing at CBGB and on WFMU radio, while continuing to build an international reputation. Notably, they became the first Italian group to be signed by Sub Pop Records, under which they released Valende in 2005.
