Susperia, a Norwegian melodic death and thrash metal band, was formed in 1998 by former Dimmu Borgir drummer Kenneth Åkesson. Initially named Seven Sins, they later changed their name to Susperia based on the movie Suspiria (1977). Their debut album, Predominance, was released in 2001 under Nuclear Blast Records. In 2002, Susperia released their second album, Vindication. The band's third album, Unlimited, was published in 2004 under Tabu Recordings and reached number 43 on the Norwegian Album Charts. Their EP Devil May Care (2005) included cover versions of songs by W.A.S.P., Death, and a-ha, reaching number 19 on VG-lista. In 2007, Susperia released their fourth album, Cut from Stone.
