Marianne Schroeder, born on April 6, 1945, in Reiden, Switzerland, is a pianist and composer. She began piano lessons at age seven and studied under Klaus Linder at the Basler Musikakademie and Eliza Hansen at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Hamburg. Schroeder's career included performances at notable festivals such as pro musica nova in Bremen and the Lucerne Festival. Her discography features over 30 albums, including works by Karlheinz Stockhausen, Anthony Braxton, Morton Feldman, and Giacinto Scelsi. Notable releases include Braxton & Stockhausen (1984) and Lasciando (1992). She was a member of the Komponistengruppe Groupe Lacroix and artist-in-residence at Brunel University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
