Farewell to Freeway, a Canadian metalcore band from Guelph, Ontario, was formed in 2000 as a punk trio named Freeway. The original lineup included Chris Lambert on guitar and vocals, Josh Hudman on bass, and Richie Gregor on drums. They released two EPs before changing their name due to a conflict with another artist. In 2003, they signed to Year of the Sun Records and released their first full-length album, Between Yesterday and Today. The band's lineup evolved over time. In 2007, Farewell to Freeway signed with Victory Records and released their debut album on the label, Definitions (2008), which featured the singles "Sound Minds" and "The Desperate Age". Their subsequent albums included Only Time Will Tell (2009) and Filthy Habits (2011).
