Julia Andersson is a Finnish-Swedish pianist and composer whose music inhabits the space between contemporary classical, jazz and ambient traditions. Her immersive instrumental works balance delicate melodies with rich harmonic textures, inviting listeners to slow down and reconnect with themselves and the world around them.Classically trained from the age of nine, Andersson discovered improvisation in her early twenties, transforming her relationship with the piano. Today, she creates music shaped by intuition, deep listening and the quiet rhythms of Nordic nature.Following her independent debut EP Within, without (2020), she began collaborating with Canadian label Moderna Records. Her releases, including the debut album Dröm (2023), have reached millions of listeners worldwide and led to performances across Finland, Sweden, Germany, Belgium and Portugal.
Her second album, set to release in October 2026, is her most personal work to date—Forever the Forest Sings is an intimate collection recorded in her home studio in Helsinki that embraces intuition, imperfection and the subtle sounds of the space itself. The result is an intimate collection of piano music that invites each listener to discover their own stories within it.
