Year Long Disaster was an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2004. The group consisted of vocalist and guitarist Daniel Davies, who is the son of Dave Davies of the Kinks, bassist Rich Mullins, and drummer Brad Hargreaves. The trio met following Davies and Mullins completing a drug rehabilitation program together, after which they met Hargreaves and formed the band. They signed with Volcom Entertainment and released their self-titled debut album, Year Long Disaster, on August 21, 2007. In 2008, they contributed a cover of the song “Running Free” to the tribute album Maiden Heaven: A Tribute to Iron Maiden and toured with Motörhead. Their second album, Black Magic; All Mysteries Revealed, was released on March 9, 2010, preceded by the single “Show Me Your Teeth”. That same month, they contributed a cover of the song “Maiden, Mother & Crone” to a split single with the Sword. Hargreaves was subsequently replaced on drums by Rob Oswald, and guitarist Will Mecum also joined the group. After touring with Oswald and Mecum in 2010 and 2011, the band became inactive, and Davies subsequently joined the band CKY.
