Jessica Rose Meuse, known as Jess Meuse, was born on October 19, 1990, in Round Rock, Texas. She is an American singer-songwriter who began her musical journey by recording CDs and gave them to her friends during her pre-teen years. Meuse self-released her debut EP, What's So Hard About Bein' a Man? in 2011, showcasing her early songwriting skills. In 2014, she gained national exposure as a contestant on the thirteenth season of American Idol, where she became the first person to perform an original song during the finals with "Blue-Eyed Lie". Meuse's second album, Halfhearted, was released in 2018 through Warrior Records.
