Tall Tales And True was an Australian rock band formed in 1983 by Matthew de la Hunty on lead vocals and guitar, Paul Miskin on bass guitar, backing vocals, and guitar, and Willie McCracken on drums. They played their first gig at French's Tavern before Dave Rashleigh replaced McCracken in 1984. The band released their debut mini-album Tall Tales & True in 1986, which included the single "Wasted Life". In May 1989, they signed with rooArt and released their full-length album Shiver, produced by Nick Mainsbridge. This album featured the singles "Trust" and "Hold on", both of which peaked within the ARIA top 70. Their subsequent albums included Revenge! (1992), which reached number 50 on the ARIA chart, and Tilt (1994). The band disbanded in 1995 following their final show at The Annandale Hotel.
