Drummer, composer, arranger and teacher, he began playing the drums at the age of eleven, perfecting himself mainly as a self-taught and attending various seminars, master classes and research laboratories.
Active in jazz music, free improvisation and world music, he has collaborated and collaborates with numerous national and international artists, performing in various festivals in Italy, Austria, France, Germany, Belgium, Greece, Spain, Romania, Norway, Russia, Morocco, and recording over thirty records. Since 2014 he has been the leader of the ARE Andrea Ruggeri Ensemble which involves thirteen musicians from Sardinia, Calabria, Basilicata, Val D'Aosta, Lombardy, Veneto and Friuli, who take turns in different projects and line-ups. 2017 is the year of his solo debut with the IDcard performance.
