The Gutter Twins was an American alternative rock collaboration formed by musicians Greg Dulli and Mark Lanegan. The duo began working together on December 25, 2003, following a journalist's inquiry about a potential project. Their name was a punning homage to the Glimmer Twins, the producing pseudonym of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. In July 2007, the duo signed with the independent label Sub Pop, which released their debut studio album, Saturnalia, on March 4, 2008. The album featured notable tracks such as the singles "Idle Hands" and "God's Children". The group toured the United States and Europe, backed by a band that included bassist Scott Ford, keyboardist Jeff Klein, drummer Cully Symington, and guitarist Dave Rosser. In September 2008, the duo released the EP Adorata, which included two original songs alongside covers of artists such as José González, Primal Scream, Scott Walker, Vetiver, and Eleven, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Natasha Shneider Memorial Fund. Lanegan died on February 22, 2022, at the age of 57.
