McQueen Street is an American hard rock and glam metal band formed in 1987 in Montgomery, Alabama, by lead vocalist Derek Welsh, guitarist Michael Powers, bassist Richard Hatcher, and drummer Chris Welsh. The band first attracted attention with the single “Time” (1991) and the charting track “In Heaven” (1991), which reached number 32 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Chart in early 1992. The debut studio album, McQueen Street (1991), was produced by Tom Werman with additional production from Steve Stevens, who co-wrote and performed on the track “Two Worlds”. Music videos for the songs “Money” and “My Religion” earned airplay on MTV's Headbangers Ball, leading to tours with Alice in Chains and Soundgarden. Although the group disbanded following the rise of grunge, and drummer Chris Welsh died of a viral illness in 1994, Derek Welsh later revived the band. A second album, McQueen Street 2 (2003), was recorded in 1993. In 2020, the group released the singles “Outside In” and “One Way Ticket”, with the latter reaching Number 1 on the underground rock charts.
