38 Dub Band, a French reggae and dub instrumental group, was formed in 1995. The band's music was heavily influenced by jazz and Jamaican music, drawing inspiration from iconic formations like The Wailers and The Revolutionaries. Their debut EP, Stepping Forward Dub, released in 1997, featured five tracks mixed by Blood Shanti and mastered in London by Aba Shanti I. The group collaborated with sound engineer Timour Cardenas for their album Volume Un (1999). This collaboration brought a distinctive "dub" touch to the band's sound. Their subsequent album, Redlight, was released in 2006.
